The Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix is a great stop for history and government enthusiasts. The historic building, which served as the state’s seat of government until 1974, now houses the Arizona Capitol Museum, where visitors can explore exhibits on Arizona’s political history, state symbols, and significant events. Highlights include the restored House and Senate chambers and artifacts from the USS Arizona. The surrounding Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza features monuments honoring veterans and historical figures.
