Best Time to Visit Phoenix

Have you ever thought about visiting Phoenix, Arizona? It’s a great place for vacation, no matter the time of year. Before you book your trip, though, you’ll want to know what Phoenix has to offer in every season—from the summer heat to milder winter temperatures, spring training baseball games to exploring the great outdoors.
As you can see, our city has a lot to offer. And that’s only the start! Follow along as we detail our favorite things to do here by season so that you can discover the best time to visit Phoenix for your perfect vacation!
What is the Weather Like in Phoenix?
The weather varies drastically in Phoenix; there’s no one set climate year-round. The summer here gets very hot (more on that below), but there are ways to keep cool in the summertime!
Does it Get Humid in Phoenix?
Most of the time, even with high temperatures, the heat here is a dry heat, meaning there are low humidity levels. It’s important to note, though, that humidity levels rise significantly during the monsoon season in July and August. Humidity affects the temperature a lot! 105° F in July or August often feels worse than 110°+ in June, when the monsoon season has yet to begin. After this rainy season is over in August, September is more pleasant again.
Phoenix in Spring (March, April, May)
Spring Training
We’d be remiss to talk about springtime in Phoenix and not mention Arizona Spring Training. It’s a huge draw for visitors! Watch as your favorite MLB Teams get ready for the regular season here in Arizona! We have several spring training stadiums, including American Family Fields of Phoenix, right here in town. Catch a Milwaukee Brewers game during your spring vacation!
Other Spring Must-Dos!
Beyond Spring Training, there are plenty of other springtime activities to enjoy. Folks in Phoenix love:
